Renée Therése Strawbridge

Performing at Music in the Country 2025 Tauherenikau, Renée Therése is an independent Māori singer and songwriter who has been performing on stage for over 25 years.

Renée has performed on television and radio several times, and has been singing in bands around the Manawatū for the past 25+ years. A previous finalist for NZCMA Entertainer of the year as both a singer and songwriter, Renée began her love of country music when she joined the Feilding Country Music Club as a 12 year old.

As convenor of the annual Aotearoa Country Music Awards and the Marketing Officer for the New Zealand Country Music Association, Renée is still very heavily immersed in our NZ country music scene.

Her 2021 country album of original songs titled Better With Friends spent a few weeks on the NZ Top 20 album charts back in May 2021. Renée loves to sing in both Māori and English, and is currently working on recordings for her next album.
